Rambiz Installs Eneco Luchterduinen Transformer Station

Grid Connection

Rambiz crane vessel, owned by Belgian Scaldis, installed offshore high voltage station (OHVS) in Dutch waters yesterday morning.

On Tuesday, the vessel arrived to port of Ijmuiden where it picked up the OHVS which is a part of Eneco Luchterduinen offshore wind farm.

Weighting as much as four Boeing 747, around 900 tonnes, the station will send electricity generated by Dutch largest offshore wind farm to the grid.

It will transform 33kV power, generated by 43 wind turbines, to 150kV and send it to the mainland through 25 kilometres long power cable.

The wind farm is scheduled to be operational by the end of 2015, when it will be able to generate enough electricity for nearly 150,000 households. The wind farm is a joint project of Japan’s Mitsubishi Corporation and Eneco Group.
