GROW:OffshoreWind Supports H&Askham’s Growth

Business & Finance

Since entering the renewables market, H&Askham has been extremely active at a number of GROW:OffshoreWind events, taking full advantage of the advice and strategic support available.

Claire Cooper, Business Development Manager, said: “Over time, the programme has really picked up momentum and become increasingly more useful for us as a business. The events hosted and facilitated by GROW have been extremely beneficial – they are well structured and specifically targeted to suit the needs of companies interested in expanding in offshore wind.

“The Advisors we worked with have aided our development and enabled us to increase our market share by providing the forum for invaluable networking and introductions, not to mention being a helpful source for current and upcoming projects, supply chain information, general market data and changes in legislation/policy.”

H&Askham also worked closely with GROW:OffshoreWind Advisor Peter Russell to access nearly £4000 of funding towards improving visibility and control over safety and productivity measures for all of its 35 employees.

The grant has been used to develop a new safety management system featuring a full set of generic rules and approved procedures that have been tailored to the work and activities of the copany.

This will be fully compatible with High and Low Voltage operating procedures, including those associated with wind farms and other renewable energy systems. This proposal provides a complete HV/LV Safety Management System (SMS) for H&Askham.

David Pierce, General Manager, added: “The generous funding and support from GROW:OffshoreWind is allowing the business to pursue a number of opportunities that will not only help us develop as a business, but will also create jobs as we further expand our team.”
