Dutch Marine Contractors Install New LiDAR off Ijmuiden

R&D

Dutch Marine Contractors has successfully completed the turnkey installation of a new LiDAR Buoy, manufactured by EOLOS, off the coast of Ijmuiden, the Netherlands.

EOLOS appointed Dutch Marine Contractors last year to fulfill their requirement of a turn-key Dutch contractor who could arrange transport, assembling, testing and the required paperwork as well as the installation of the LiDAR Buoy 40Nm offshore of Ijmuiden.

Dutch Marine Contractors used one of their anchor handling tugs ‒ the Bever, which they have under Commercial Management for the offshore installation works.

The new prototype LiDAR buoy from EOLOS is a fully autonomous all-in-one system, which can accurately measure wind, wave and current. It has been designed to minimize both CAPEX and OPEX of offshore wind measurement campaigns.
