Company Providing Offshore Wind Staff Launched in Germany

A specialist company for the provision of personnel exclusively in the offshore wind industry has been launched in Oldenburg. Convent offshore GmbH yesterday said that it wants to set new standards in personnel service for the installation, repair and maintenance of offshore wind farms.

The concept of the company involves preparing a service technician extensively for challenges at sea, thus developers and operators can get prompt and professional support.

Thorben Schiborowski, Managing Director of convent offshore GmbH, said: “We want to offer a comprehensive, professional and highly specialized service to our customers. In particular, through our in-house training institute, the Convent College, we ensure the highest excellence of our staff.”

An important component of the new concept is the company’s headquarters in Oldenburg, where the staff advises companies in the offshore wind industry on all matters related to human resources planning and training. The aim is to ensure smooth operations to allow these companies can focus on the technological challenges.

Schiborowski also plans internationalization of the company: “We can look to England, France, the Netherlands and Scandinavia. German know-how is there already in demand. Our employees can build a long-term career in the offshore wind industry.”

With approximately 100 offshore service technicians, Schiborowski sees the company well positioned in the market: “We also recognize that personnel requirements will increase. We are happy to accompany applicants on their way to the offshore wind energy.”
