Gode Wind: A2SEA, CT Offshore Set Ground Rules on Safety

Wind Farm Update

On 5 May 2015, A2SEA and CT Offshore invited all subcontractors on the upcoming Gode Wind project to participate in a Safety Supplier Day.

The purpose of the day was to inform all subcontractors of the expectations regarding safety during the work that will take place at Gode Wind, where CT Offshore is in charge of the cabling work and A2SEA of the turbines.

The key points from the day were:

  • Safety does not happen by chance, safety has to be managed.
  • We must NEVER compromise safety!
  • We want everybody to return home in the same condition as when they went to work.

DONG Energy’s Programme Director on the Gode Wind project Jan Thomsen explained their expectations on the safety performance and said that “We must NEVER compromise safety! It is simply a no go.”

CT Offshore’s vessel SIA will start installation and burial of the 97 cables at Gode Wind in early June and A2SEA’s SEA CHALLENGER will start installing turbines in the beginning of August.

Until then, intense activity will take place on the quay side of the harbour in Esbjerg where the mobilisation will take place.
