Highlands and Islands Enterprise has released new job opportunities at Wave Energy Scotland (WES): Programme Manager and Innovation and Research Manager. The deadline for applications is on Tuesday, 19 May 2015.

Programme Manager will have a key role in supporting WES establishment and operation. Reporting to the Managing Director, the Programme Manager will lead a team of project managers ensuring the efficient development and delivery of the WES programs which will be designed to enable wave technologies to reach commercial readiness in the most effective manner, and to encourage the return of private sector investment.

The post holder will be responsible for implementing appropriate project management systems, management of the overall Wave Energy Scotland work plan, and ensuring key stakeholders up to date with project progress.

Innovation & Research Manager will take a key role in the establishment and operation of Wave Energy Scotland. Reporting to the Managing Director, they will lead a team of technical staff to help define the strategic direction of WES, determine priority technology areas for public
sector support, and thereafter devise and run innovation calls.

An in-depth understanding of the needs and challenges associated with development of wave energy sector is essential for this role. Candidates should have a strong technical background, with a clear understanding of technology development processes and challenges.

Wave Energy Scotland has recently been established by Highlands and Islands Enterprise to support the development of wave energy technologies in Scotland. As a Scottish Government funded initiative, Wave Energy Scotland has been tasked with bringing together the best engineering and academic minds to collaborate on innovative projects that will accelerate the development of wave technologies.
