SSC Wind, Deutsche WindGuard Launch German Wind Academy

Business & Finance

By signing a Letter of Intent (LOI), SSC Wind EMEA GmbH and Deutsche WindGuard have confirmed their cooperation in the field of education and training for the wind energy industry.

At the site of Maritime Campus in Elsfleth, the “German Wind Academy” will offer comprehensive education and training opportunities for the wind energy industry.

SSC Wind will bring in its many years of expertise in technical training of professionals for the offshore wind energy. Deutsche WindGuard, which runs a safety training center for onshore and offshore wind at the Maritime Campus since 2011, is responsible for regular safety training of service technicians in accordance with national and international standards.

Stefan Hicke, WindGuard Senior Project Manager, said: “Instead of having to send staff to different training sites for safety and technical training, combining all aspects on one site will immediately reduce travel expenses and off-project time.”

“This is why Deutsche WindGuard Offshore and SSC Wind have joined forces on the Maritime Campus in Elsfleth close to Bremen, to offer this one-stop-solution. The Campus offers excellent facilities to cover all aspects allowing companies to send staff for both safety training and and technical courses, f. ex. in the case of refresher trainings, all covered in one week.”

The joint offering is aimed at companies that are looking for a competent partner for all necessary training measures.

The academy will start with operations in June.
