Breman Machinery Hands Over Monopile Gripper to Van Oord

Breman Machinery recently delivered a second monopile gripper to Van Oord.

After a success with the first gripper, Van Oord ordered a second gripper at the end of October 2014. The second gripper, measuring 14,5x29x13,5m and weighing 560t, was assembled and tested at Breman’s facility in Ijmuiden.

The gripper was partially welded, machined and painted at Breman’s facility in Genemuiden.

To achieve a short delivery time on this gripper, Breman Machinery re-examined the whole production process of Gripper 1.0 and made, wherever possible, changes to improve the quality and shorten the lead time.
