Siemens Christens ‘Esvagt Faraday’ SOV (Gallery)

Siemens is officially christening its new Service Operation Vessel (SOV) Esvagt Faraday in Hamburg today, the company announced on its social media pages.

“The SOVs are a key part for efficient & safe offshore wind service,” said Randy Zwirn, CEO Power Generation Services.

He further added: “Siemens is committed to pioneering new technologies that make the lifecycle cost of wind energy competitive.”

Esvagt Faraday is the second SOV (first being the Esvagt Froude) custom built to service offshore wind farms.

The vessel will service wpd’s Butendiek offshore wind farm in the North Sea.
