Dutch subsea cable logistics specialist WIND has been nominated by The Royal Association of Netherlands Shipowners (KNVR) for the  dutch Shipping Award 2015.

WIND received the nomination for its pioneering role in the development of recovery of long distance, out-of-service subsea cable systems.

The concept, developed by WIND in 2009, consists of converting cargo vessels into recovery vessels and includes development of special cable recovery equipment, development of cable recovery procedures and training of crews. Since inception WIND has succesfully recovered some 15,000 km of cable and continues to add more every day.

WIND is a shipping company providing specialised logistic services to the subsea cable industry and is active worldwide. Its client base includes subsea cable manufacturers, subsea cable installation companies, offshore marine contractors and utility companies.
