OMM Protects Sandbank’s Subsea Cables

Wind Farm Update

Offshore Marine Management (OMM) has completed another mattressing project in the German North Sea.

The contract, which required the company to install mattresses at all cable crossings along the 70km route from Sandbank offshore wind farm to the converter station SylWin Alpha, was awarded in June 2015.

Mobilisation for the project occurred within 30 days of the contract award, demonstrating OMM’s ability to react rapidly to, and meet, clients’ requirements by utilising an extensive network of personnel and suppliers.

Jonathan Everest, technical manager from OMM, who managed the project, said: “Our team efficiently developed project specific technical procedures and QHSE documentation to meet the client’s high standards for conducting the work.

Our effective communication with the client, suppliers, as well as internally, meant the project could be completed in such a short space of time, to the highest quality standards.”

This is one of a number of mattressing projects completed by OMM so far this year. The company most recently delivered mattress installation work for another client which saw it using its new muli-mattress deployment tool, the MDS3.
