VIDEO: Wind Turbine Installation at Borkum Riffgrund 1

The last turbine at DONG Energy ‘s Borkum Riffgrund 1 offshore wind farm was installed in May. Of the total of 78 turbines, 77 are sitting on monopile foundations while one serves for testing of the Suction Bucket Jacket foundation.

The offshore wind farm has a 312MW capacity and can meet the annual electricity demands of 320,000 German households.

Borkum Riffgrund 1 is located approximately 54 kilometers from shore and 37 kilometers from the island Borkum in the North Sea.
