Donald Trump vs EOWDC at UK’s Supreme Court

Donald Trump has taken the fight against the European Offshore Wind Deployment Centre (EOWDC) project to the Supreme Court in London, which held a hearing today.

After losing a couple of times in the Scottish courts, the Trump Organization decided to file a lawsuit against the 11-turbine project to the UK’s Supreme Court, saying that it was “impossible to have a fair hearing” in Scotland.

Mr Trump has already announced he will take the fight to European courts if he loses in the Supreme Court, The Guardian writes.

Donald Trump claims that the offshore wind project off Aberdeenshire coast would ruin the view from his golf course at Menie.

Even though he vowed not to take his plans forward unless the European Offshore Wind Deployment Centre (EOWDC) was rejected, Mr Trump has already submitted planning applications to Aberdeenshire Council for the next development phase of his Aberdeenshire golf course, saying that the offshore wind project’s chances of being built are weakening due to financial issues and outdated technology. Vattenfall, company behind the project, denied that any of this is true and stated that the plans for the development are still ongoing.

The verdict of the Supreme Court judges is expected to be delivered at a later date, according to BBC.
