Ezion will also provide the technical expertise for the operations and deployment of the two service rigs, and has been granted options to buy them.

Back in December 2015, Ezion agreed to provide another Chinese state-owned enterprise with service rigs for the loading, construction, transportation and installation aspects of a wind turbine development project undertaken by the enterprise.

In addition, Ezion will also be providing the relevant technical expertise required for the construction and installation of the wind turbine foundation and components.

The enterprise will be responsible for the engineering, procurement and construction of the entire offshore wind power project which includes the design optimization, manufacturing, transportation and installation of the wind turbine foundation for offshore wind power, as well as the installation of the turbine and substation, cable laying and the operations and maintenance of the wind farm.

China has set a target of 30GW of installed offshore wind capacity by 2020 in its current five-year plan.
