The order, combining the supply and installation of both foundations and wind turbines in one contract, represents the first such deal in German offshore market, according to EnBW.

Siemens will provide its SWT-7.0-154 wind turbines, monopile-based foundations, and installation vessels for both tasks.

With this latest contract award, supply contracts for all main work on EnBW Hohe See have now been concluded. A few weeks ago, EnBW awarded contracts for the inter-array cabling to VBMS GmbH, and for the offshore substation to a consortium of Cofely Fabricom NV, Iemants NV and CG Holdings Belgium NV.

EnBW is expected to reach the final construction and investment decision for the project by the end 2016. The company said it is also planning to have secured co-investors for the acquisition of up to 49.9% in EnBW Hohe See by that time.
