“We have seen an increasing demand for our project management, audit, certification and inspection services from the offshore wind and oil & gas industry in these regions, making the opening of the new offices a natural next step for our company,” said Johan Hansen, Managing Director, SeaState Aviation.

”The UK and Germany, having the most expansive rate of offshore wind farm construction in Europe, are key markets for us. The demand for independent technical, operational and commercial expertise within offshore aviation is increasing, as helicopters are becoming an important part of the personnel logistic strategies for offshore wind farms, especially in the UK and Germany. The growing use of helicopters in the offshore wind industry is primarily due to increasing distances from shore. In addition we see that developers and OEM’s move towards using helicopters as part of their logistics strategy, along with SOV’s and crew transfer vessels, to increase availability and reduce transportation time.”

At the beginning of 2016, Seastate Aviation changed the company’s name from Waypoint North to reflect its focus on the offshore wind market.

The company’s consulting services define strategies and performance improvements within offshore aviation transport and logistics, while its safety assurance services provide transparency and safety through audits of helicopter operators, and implementation of operational procedures and manuals.
