The existing EMO Terminal in Eemshaven, operated by EMO’s subsidiary Ems Maritime Offshore Nederland B.V., will by autumn 2016 get a new 600m² warehouse and a 500m² office building, parts of which will be leased to Siemens.

“We wanted a long-term solution which meets our values of Green Logistics and which lies in close proximity to the wind farm. In addition, with EMO we have found a partner that attended individually to our wishes and has created an exemplary logistics concept,” said Mikael Majgaard, Project Manager of Siemens.

Siemens will use the offshore service hub in Eemshaven as the base for its turbine installation and subsequent 15-year O&M works on the 600MW Gemini wind farm.

“Eemshaven has already shown that it is perfectly suited for the installation of wind farms. Now we get the opportunity to expand the good reputation to the O&M phase. If the demand increases any further, we will be ready to create additional warehouse options,” said Knut Gerdes, Managing Director of EMO.
