BWS is also in charge of storing the transformers, and their subsequent loading and transport to the installation site. Apart from taking care of the transformer units, the Danish transport and shipping company is acting as an agent for the barges transporting the jacket and the topside for the Horns Rev C substation.

BWS has also entered into an agency agreement with the two suppliers of the platform, Hollandia Offshore BV and HSM Offshore BV.

“We have ensured accommodation of all HSM Offshore BV crew in one complex. This makes the crew transfer to and from the port a lot easier. We will coordinate all port calls and fulfill any requirement HSM might have during the project. As we are available 24/7, we can render prompt assistance in case of unforeseen events such as illness,” said Mikkel Puggaard, Project Manager at BWS.

Energinet.dk is the developer and owner of the infrastructure which will transport the energy generated by Horns Rev 3 to the Danish grid. The wind farm comprises 50 MHI Vestas V164-8 MW turbines which should be fully operational by early 2020.
