Vessels

Hamburg-based OPUS Marine held a naming ceremony for its two newbuilding 26-metre Crew Transfer Vessels (CTVs) at Wilhelmshaven on 9 May, which have commenced their first charters directly after being named.

The vessels were given the names Presto and Vivace as per the company’s tradition to name its vessels after classical musical movements.

The German-flagged sister vessels of the StratCat series were built in Vietnam by Strategic Marine and can carry up to 24 passengers, 30 tons of cargo or 35.000 liters of fuel. Their maximum speed is in excess of 30 knots.

Both vessels will be equipped with Palfinger PK 23500 marine cranes for loading/unloading and cargo operations on the ships’ fore decks. Optionally an A-frame for ROV works on the aft deck can be added with the respective foundations already pre-installed.
