Red Marine Looking to Cut Offshore Wind Farm Installation Costs with New Gear

R&D

Red Marine is developing new engineering solutions with the goal of reducing the costs and safety risks associated with the installation works at offshore wind farms.

Working alongside Tim Bland of OMC Ltd and former Project Manager for the Tees offshore wind farm, Red Marine is working on a new flange bolt installation and torquing tool to enable safer handling of multiple flange bolts and to reduce installation times and costs.

The company is also developing a universal sea-fastening system for towers, transition pieces and nacelles.

The clamp based system is adjustable for a range of different sized components, and can be used across a number of projects to reduce the time and cost of sea-fastening operations, Red Marine said.
