JDR Invests in World’s 2nd Largest Horizontal Lay-Up Machine

JDR has unveiled its new horizontal lay-up machine (HLM), the biggest in the UK and the second largest in the world, which is part of JDR’s ongoing Hartlepool expansion to better service its growing oil, gas and renewables industry, the company said.

The new HLM will provide increased manufacturing capacity and enhance solutions to clients’ operational challenges, in particular for complex steel tube and subsea power umbilicals, JDR said.

David Currie, CEO of JDR, commented: “The HLM will nearly double our production capacity. We’re committed to offering unrivalled technical expertise to design, test and deliver the next generation of subsea technology to the global offshore energy industry.
