Semco Maritime is to construct a special module, which will render it possible to adapt Seajacks Scylla’s freight deck to accommodate different sizes of towers and blades.

Seajacks has designed the fastening solution, which is to be constructed on land and mounted on the vessel when she arrives in Esbjerg, Denmark, in November 2016, said Lars Skov, Head of Rig Projects at Semco Maritime.

”Rig Projects will handle project management while our own fabrication department will support with the fabrication at our yard in Esbjerg making this a truly tailor-made task for Semco Maritime,” said Skov.

”We only have ”Scylla” in Esbjerg for 18 days, and during that period we are to mount a complex prefabricated solution. That is obviously a very sharp deadline, which we are only able to live up to because of our year-long experience with management of urgent rig projects in combination with our dockyard expertise from this exact type of module construction.”

Semco Maritime expects to complete all the works on Seajacks Scylla by 18 December.
