The vessel will transport people and equipment between the base port in Norddeich and the offshore wind farm alpha ventus, located in the German exclusive economic zone, and possibly other offshore wind farms.

EWE is looking for a CTV which can transport at least 12 people and must be available for work from May to August, as well as in September and October.

“The contractor is responsible for placing a pier in Norddeich. At the request of the customer, the base port can be moved to Borkum,” the company said in a tender notice.

The deadline for submission of tenders is 21 December 2016.

Alpha ventus, the first offshore wind farm in Germany, is located 45km off the island of Borkum. The 60MW wind farm comprises 6 Senvion and 6 Areva 5MW turbines. The project started generating power in August 2009 and was fully commissioned in April 2010,
