The two WFIVs tasked with installing the 67 Siemens SWT-6.0-154 wind turbines at the 402MW wind farm are Seajacks Scylla and Fred Olsen Windcarrier’s Bold Tern.

Seajacks Scylla had already worked on the project, installing 67 monopiles at the site located some 95km north west of the island of Borkum in the German exclusive economic zone (EEZ). Seajacks Zaratan installed all of the transition pieces at the site.

Veja Mate is a EUR 1.9 billion offshore wind project owned by the Highland Group Holdings Ltd, Siemens Financial Services, and CI II managed by Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners.

The wind farm is expected to be fully operational by late 2017/early 2018.
