Offshore Wind Turbine Inspection Co-Op Ticks All Boxes

Operations & Maintenance

Natural Power, Fred. Olsen Windcarrier and SubC Partner have joined forces to launch www.Offshorewindspect.com – a new co-operative in offshore wind turbine inspections dedicated to reducing downtime.

Officially launching at Offshore Wind Energy 2017 in London on 6 June, the new service is said to offer clients a simple contracting model where they can pick and choose from a list of inspection services under one contract.

This is expected to offer lower costs and reduced contract complexity, saving time and lowering operational risk for clients, the companies said.

“By coordinating the service areas of each of our organisations under one agreement, Offshorewindspect.com has the distinct advantage of being able to pass on the benefits of an agile, responsive and efficient service directly to its clients,” Pieter d’Haen, International Director at Natural Power, said:

“On-going inspection work is vital when it comes to maintaining, repairing and maximising output from offshore assets but often requires some of the fleet to be out of operation until work is complete. By combining our service offerings we can ensure downtime is minimised by coordinating inspections through one contractual interface, reducing inspection duration, and ensuring efficient and safe operations through close communication between vessel and inspection crew, thus also driving cost efficiencies.”
