DONG Inaugurates Gode Wind 1 and 2 Offshore Wind Farms

DONG Energy officially inaugurated the Gode Wind 1 and 2 offshore wind farms in the premises of the Royal Danish Embassy in Berlin, Germany on Monday, 26 June.

The two wind farms comprise 97 Siemens 6MW wind turbines with a combined capacity of 582MW.

The planning of Gode Wind 1 and 2 projects started with the final investment decision in 2013. The construction of both wind farms started with the construction of the offshore transformer platforms.

The first turbine was installed in the North Sea some 45 kilometers off the German coast in August 2015.

DONG Energy holds 50% stakes in Gode Wind 1 and 2 wind farms. Global Infrastructure Partners holds the remaining 50 percent stake in Gode Wind 1. A consortium of four Danish pension funds, including PKA, Industriens Pension, Lærernes Pension und Lægernes Pensionskasse, holds the remaining 50 percent share in Gode Wind 2.
