The two wind farms are planned to be constructed off the coast of the Fujian province, the German institute said.

The buoys will be used to precisely measure the wind conditions in the designated locations so as to allow precise calculation of the wind farm’s electricity yield.

The two offshore wind farms are being developed by the China Three Gorges Corporation (CTG). The projects have a combined capacity of up to 4GW, Fraunhofer IWES said.
