Through the Beatrice offshore wind farm project, the developers will provide a total of GBP 1 million over a period of five years, to invest in local projects in four community council areas in Moray: Buckie and District, Keith, Lennox, and Strathisla.

The local organisations eligible to apply for the funding must be either a legally constituted community group, a not for profit organisation, or a registered charity.

The deadline for this round of applications is 12 October 2017.

The GBP 6 million Beatrice Community Investment Fund, associated with the Beatrice offshore wind farm currently under construction in the Moray Firth, is being distributed over a five year period from 2017 in Moray and the Highlands.

The community investment fund is being provided by Beatrice Offshore Wind Farm Ltd (BOWL), and is in addition to the GBP 28 million that BOWL is paying into the Crown Estate’s Coastal Community Fund as part of its seabed leasing agreement.

The 84-turbine Beatrice offshore wind farm is due to be operational by 2019.
