Expertise Hub VIDEO: Costs Falling Under Positive Pressure (Bladt Industries)

Offshore wind moving forward with cutting down the cost of energy brings both a certain risk to the developers and pressure on the supply chain. The industry needs to stand together with a joint aim to further reduce the price of offshore wind power, according to Lars Kristensen, Senior Vice President Wind & Renewable Energy at Bladt Industries. “We need also some pressure on us to bring down the costs.”

When in comes to the company itself, in its 2016 annual results published earlier this year – along with reporting a revenue increase – Bladt stated that it was exploring the emerging offshore wind opportunities within foundations and substations in the U.S. and in the Asia Pacific region. The company does not have plans to set up its facilities or open its offices there, but is looking for potential partners to set up a company together, Kristensen told Offshore WIND.

Watch the video posted above to find out more about this part of the industry, as well as Bladt’s business and plans from Lars Kristensen, who joined our Expertise Hub held in London at the beginning of June.
