The contract makes sure that the vessel is used until the end of this year, DOF Subsea said.

“I am very pleased with the contract award, and our organisation’s ability to secure utilisation in a challenging market,” Mons S. Aase, the company’s CEO, stated.

Galloper is currently in construction off the Suffolk coast and innogy SE is leading the construction and operation of the 336MW wind farm on behalf of the project partners.

The Galloper wind farm will comprise 56 Siemens 6MW wind turbines, with the wind turbine installation vessel Pacific Orca installing the units at the site. Siemens Gamesa is also supporting the wind farm as it moves into the operational phase, under the terms of a 15-year service contract.

The offshore wind farm is expected to be commissioned in early 2018.

Skandi Constructor is a 120m long, DP3 offshore support vessel capable of accommodating up to 100 persons on board.
