Østergaard already has an understanding of the commercial wind market due to his experience as a supplier for wind turbine producers both in Denmark and in the USA, Esvagt said.

“I have a good working knowledge of the entire value chain and experience in spotting optimisation and opportunities for innovative solutions. Esvagt is a respected partner in the development of tailor made concepts, and I look forward to carrying on that work,” says Rune Østergaard.

Headquartered in Esbjerg, Denmark, Esvagt provides Wind Service Operation Vessels (WSOVs) and services to the offshore wind industry.

The company currently operates a fleet of four WSOVs, with three more vessels expected to be delivered throughout 2017 and 2018.

Esvagt has been active in offshore wind since 2010 when they brought their Service Operation Vessels (SOV) to the market. Recently, Esvagt’s SOV won a contract for Deutsche Bucht (DeBu) offshore wind farm in the duration of fifteen years, making it the company’s longest contract.
