Enterprise Europe Network (EEN) and Innovate UK are organising a fully-funded visit to China for up to 15 high growth UK businesses operating in the offshore wind sector. The visit is planned for March, with the application period open until 22 January.

After applying for the trip – which will see Innovate UK funding all costs associated to travel and accommodation – the applicants will become part of a competitive process and the list of successful candidates will be available by 25 January.

The market visit to China under the Global Business Accelerator Programme aims to promote cooperation in offshore wind energy. Those selected after the competitive process will visit Qingdao province on 19 and 20 March and Jiangsu province on 22 and 23 March.

China targets developing 30GW of offshore wind energy by 2020, with R&D investments expected to reach 50 Billion yuan. Offshore wind investments in China will mostly go to the two aforementioned provinces, which the UK companies will soon visit.
