The solution is already commercially deployed at two North Sea offshore wind farms, where it provides wireless voice and data coverage, enabling maintenance and construction workers to communicate across the offshore site and onshore control centers.

According to e-BO, its e-Wind offering is an all-in-one development and management solution for wind farms, encompassing resourcing, logistics and communications.

Quortus contributes virtualized LTE core network functionality to enable LTE Network in a Box (NiB) solutions that function as standalone private networks, or interconnect to existing mobile network operator infrastructure, which e-BO can use to create a broadband-like experience across an entire offshore site, the company said.

e-BO Enterprises is an engineering company with expertise in networking, security and telecom solutions. The company delivers control, safety and security systems, as well as all integration aspects of the different subsystems, and is active in the field of public safety markets and offshore energy.

Headquartered in Camberley, UK, Quortus implements standards-conforming functions of 4G, 3G and GSM cellular core networks in software.
