Located some three kilometers off Aberdeen, EOWDC, also known as the Aberdeen Offshore Wind Farm, will comprise eleven MHI Vestas 8.4MW turbines.

The wind turbines will be installed on suction bucket jacket foundations and inter-connected by 66kV inter-array cables.

Boskalis is the preferred offshore balance of plant (BoP) contractor for the construction and installation (EPCI) of the offshore infrastructure including the foundations and cabling, while Murphy & Sons has been chosen as the preferred bidder to provide the onshore substation and associated cabling work.

The 92.5MW wind farm is expected to generate first power this summer and operate for 20 years.
