Contracts & Tenders

Norwegian supplier of offshore support vessels, Simon Møkster Shipping, has signed contracts with Van Oord and VBMS, who will use the Multi Purpose Support Vessel (MPSV) Stril Server for walk-to-work projects in the offshore wind market.

Both contracts have been signed for two months plus options, with works for Van Oord starting in April, while VBMS will commence using the vessel in August.

The Stril Server will be equipped with an SMST gangway, for which the foundation will be integrated in the vessel’s structure, in order to simplify and reduce costs for future mobilisation of the gangway.

“Møkster is very pleased with both these two projects that will give the company a better foothold in the renewables market,” the company stated, not disclosing any further details about the projects the vessel will be deployed on.

VBMS had already used the Stril Server for its offshore wind operations in the North Sea after signing its first contract for the vessel in January 2017.
