At the new position, Brun will be responsible for alliance building, stakeholder management and promoting offshore wind development.

Brun held the role of Vice Chairman at WindEurope (former EWEA) and Global Wind Energy Council between 2009 and 2013, and was the Chairman of the Danish Wind Energy Association from 2007 to 2011.

In addition to working for wind associations, Brun acted as the Senior Vice President at Vestas for more than seven years, where he worked on the development of wind power together with stakeholders worldwide.

According to DNV GL, Brun’s collaborative approach within these roles and his regulatory and investment risk management helped to raise the profile of wind energy, including offshore wind, and how the engineering and cost challenges can be overcome to realize the benefits of this technology.

“Peter has fantastic wind experience and diplomacy skills which enable him to further push forward the case for offshore wind development in Europe and emerging markets, such as Asia and North America,” said Lucy Craig, Director, Technology & Innovation for DNV GL’s Energy business.

“His knowledge of the wind industry and the global risk management experience of DNV GL in offshore wind gives new players entering the market confidence in helping them achieve long-term returns on their investments in sustainable development and clean power generation.”
