The agreement comprises loading of approximately 120 complete V164 turbines for the Aberdeen Bay (European Offshore Wind Development Centre or EOWDC), the Borkum Riffgrund 2 and the Horns Rev 3 offshore wind projects.

All turbine components come to Esbjerg from Lindø and Nakskov, where they are assembled and are loaded onto installation vessels.

This new agreement replaces an old agreement between Jutlandia and MHI Vestas and came into force on March 1, 2018.

The operation also commenced in March with the handling and loading of the turbines for the Aberdeen Bay wind farm, which will be followed by the Borkum Riffgrund 2 and eventually the Horns Rev 3. The project will be carried out throughout 2018.

“We are incredibly proud that MHI Vestas Offshore Wind has chosen Jutlandia Stevedoring to handle the loading operation of the three projects. Furthermore, we are humble about the job and we will put all efforts into optimizing the loadings; and not only meet but also exceed the expectations of MHI Vestas,” Kim List, Jutlandia’s Operations Manager Stevedoring, said.

“We have spent a long time preparing for the handling which is reflected in the strong team Jutlandia Stevedoring is today, where everyone is experienced in loading installation vessels.”
