According to the vessel’s AIS, Sea Installer is currently located at the wind farm site some 40 kilometers off the coast of Ostend.

The first turbines are expected to generate electricity by mid-2018, while all 42 turbines will be installed at the Rentel wind farm after the summer, Rentel NV said.

The assembly of the turbines started in the Port of Ostend in mid-February after the first parts arrived at the REBO terminal.

Under the contract signed in April 2016, Siemens Gamesa is also in charge of the servicing and maintenance of the turbines.

The Rentel offshore wind farm is scheduled for full commissioning by the end of the year.
