The 2,500-tonne topside will soon be installed at the site some 38 kilometres off the island of Borkum in the German North Sea, where the jacket foundation was installed in July 2017.

HSM Offshore is carrying out this EPC contract on behalf of Ørsted, the developer of the 450MW project.

The wind farm will feature 56 MHI Vestas 8MW turbines which are currently being installed and are scheduled for commissioning in 2019.

The offshore substation will collect the electricity generated by the turbines, transform it to a higher voltage level, and feed it to the German grid.
