Operations & Maintenance

Belgium-based company nCentric has delivered a wireless solution to provide internet at the Nordsee Ost offshore wind farm in Germany and the vessels working on it.

The company has been hired by Senvion to provide at least a 20Mbps internet connection towards every vessel working in and around the 295MW offshore wind farm, located approximately 35 kilometres north of the island of Heligoland in the German North Sea.

Nordsee Ost, owned by innogy, comprises 48 Senvion 6.2M126 turbines and was fully commissioned in May 2015. Senvion is responsible for servicing the turbines during the first five years of operation, with options to extend the contract.

Earlier this year, nCentric also installed wireless communication systems onboard A2Sea’s jack-up vessel Sea Installer for offshore installation works at the Rentel wind farm in Belgium.

The Belgian company also provided a high bandwidth inter-vessel communication system for the Northwind wind farm in Belgium in 2013.
