The installation of the first wind turbine comes shortly after Jan De Nul’s Vole au vent installed the first transition piece at the site. So far, two transition pieces have been installed and the remaining 47 units are expected to be installed by September.

Earlier this week, Fred. Olsen Windcarrier’s jack-up Brave Tern left the Port of Esbjerg loaded with the first four wind turbines.

The milestone also represents a debut for an MHI Vestas V164-8.0 MW wind turbine model on Danish offshore wind farms. A2SEA is responsible for the planning and execution of the wind turbine installation.

Horns Rev 3 is located 25-40 kilometres off the Danish west coast and comprise 49 wind turbines scheduled for full commissioning in 2020.
