SPR appointed NRS Group to design and construct the O&M building at the site adjacent to Hamilton Dock leased from the Associated British Ports (ABP), which will include specialist offices and warehousing.

ABP is constructing pontoons and some land-side utilities to enable crew transfer vessels to operate from Hamilton Dock. ABP has engaged McLaughlin & Harvey to design and construct the facilities.

The new base will support the offshore phase of construction work on the wind farm, as well as the 30-plus years operational lifespan of the project. The project is valued at around GBP 25 million.

Located some 43 kilometres off the Suffolk Coast, the 714MW East Anglia One will comprise 102 Siemens Gamesa 7MW wind turbines scheduled for full commissioning in 2020.

Offshore construction at the site is well underway, with the first jacket foundations already in place.
