The commitment follows the recent announcement made by the UK Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) of a GBP 60 million draft budget notice for the Round 3 CfD in May 2019.

BEIS has also set an administrative strike price for offshore wind of GBP 56 per MWh for projects coming online in 2023-2024, and GBP 53 per MWh for projects commissioned in 2024-2025.

The Seagreen Phase 1 project comprises two offshore wind farms – Seagreen Alpha and Seagreen Bravo. The wind farms are situated in the Firth of Forth Zone some 25km from the Angus coastline in Scotland.

Seagreen is currently seeking amendments to the existing consent which would see fewer, larger, higher capacity wind turbines and the inclusion of monopiles as a foundation option. A maximum of 120 turbines would be developed across the Alpha and Bravo areas with a combined capacity of around 1.5GW.
