Chinese wind turbine manufacturer CRRC Wind Power (Shandong) has opened a research and development office in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Copenhagen Capacity

Located in Greater Copenhagen, the R&D office is expected to help accelerate product innovation with Danish universities and wind power companies, as well as strengthen cooperation with local partners on projects in Europe.

According to CRRC, the decision to establish the office in Greater Copenhagen is very much owing to Denmark’s lead position in sustainable energy.

“Denmark is renowned worldwide for its wind energy knowhow and solutions.,” said Na Li, Chief Representative at CRRC Wind Power (Shandong) Denmark.

“Prominent institutions such as the Technical University of Denmark and many wind energy companies and suppliers are located in Greater Copenhagen, which is a major contributor to our decision of establishing here.”

Copenhagen Capacity and Invest in Denmark assisted CRRC with information about the Danish wind energy and cleantech industry and provided advice on establishing the business.

CRRC said that the two companies helped by arranging fact-finding tours, introducing to local partners and other industry networks, and assisting with practical business startup help such as finding a lawyer and employees.
