SMC will provide client representative services across a range of installation scopes, including cable, foundation and turbine installation.

“We have been working with FOWI for a number of weeks now, delivering full-scope Marine Coordination services, with the addition of Client Reps being a logical complimentary step to take as we support the project in the safe coordination of marine construction activities,” said SMC’s Operations Director, Dean Coates.

To remind, the UK company launched a new branch in Taipei in March with an aim to support the offshore wind sector in the region.

Formosa 1 Phase 2 has recently entered the construction phase and will add 20 Siemens Gamesa 6MW turbines to the already operational first two-turbine phase.

The 128MW project, being developed in a joint venture of Ørsted, JERA, Macquarie Capital and Swancor, will be Taiwan’s first commercial-scale offshore wind farm.
