Huadian Wins Deal for SPIC Binhai South H3

Huadian Heavy Industries has secured contracts with Binhai Smart Wind Power for work at the SPIC Binhai South H3 offshore wind project in China.

The Chinese company has been selected as the main EPC contractor for the construction and installation of a part of the project’s facilities and equipment.

According to Huadian, the work is expected to be completed in 306 days under the contract valued at CNY 1.65 billion (approximately EUR 209.2 million).

SPIC Binhai South H3 will comprise 75 turbines mounted on monopile foundations designed by Ramboll. The 300MW wind farm is being developed on behalf of the State Power Investment Corporation (SPIC), a state-owned enterprise committed to developing sustainable energy.

It is the third in a series of wind farms, including SPIC Binhai North H1 which began producing power in December 2016 and SPIC Binhai North H2 which went into operation in 2017.
