According to LOC, the office will host geotechnical, geological, naval architecture and marine systems consulting engineers to serve its client base in the region.

“The opening of our Newcastle office demonstrates Longitude’s success in expanding its presence in the UK’s burgeoning Offshore Renewables sector. The office has a strong team in place and is well positioned geographically execute projects and develop close partnerships with universities and other organisations in the industry,” said R V Ahilan, CEO of LOC Group.

The company believes that North East England is a key strategic location for the offshore renewables sector as it offers extensive port facilities, skilled local workforce and support for future offshore wind farm developments.

“We have seen considerable demand for our offering in the northeast of England and believe this office location means we are well placed to continue developing our existing client base and serve new clients as the region continues to develop as an infrastructure ‘hub’ for the Offshore Renewables market,” said David Bignold, Managing Director of Longitude.
