RVO.nl Reveals Hollandse Kust Noord Details at OWC

Contracts & Tenders

The zero-subsidy tender for the Hollandse Kust (Noord) offshore wind farm zone will be launched in the fourth quarter of 2019, the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO.nl) revealed at the Offshore Wind Conference (OWC).

During the workshop held in cooperation with the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Policy, Rijkswaterstaat and TSO TenneT, RVO.nl said that the appeals for the Hollandse Kust (Noord) grid connection are currently pending at the Council of State.

A total of three appeals need to be addressed, with model agreements and technical requirements being prepared prior to the tender launch, TenneT stated.

The transmission system operator also revealed that the possibility to connect the Hollandse Kust (Noord) platform to an oil & gas platform is being investigated.

RVO.nl concluded that the Hollandse Kust (Noord) wind farm site decisions are irrevocable.

Hollandse Kust (Noord) is one of three offshore wind areas chosen by the Dutch government to be developed by 2023, as part of the country’s Energy Agreement for sustainable growth. It consists of two 350MW sites located 18.5km off the coast.
