MTE will design, engineer, fabricate, and supply its A0 fire-rated and Non-Rated (NR) external and internal profiled wall panels for the offshore platform.

MTE has recently started the fabrication of the walls in the Mech-Tool Korea facility.

“The confidence shown by DryDocks World Dubai and their client Petrofac, in selecting Mech-Tool Engineering as the successful bidder for the supply of the fire rated walling package is of great importance to us,” Craig Rose, MTE’s BD Strategy & Proposals Director, said.

”The MTE Renewable division are proud to continue the trusted association with Petrofac following-on from the recent Galloper topsides project and we look forward to the growth of a valued relationship with the world class DDWD Yard of the UAE.”

Drydocks World is responsible for the construction, engineering, commissioning and load-out of the 700MW topside for the Alpha platform.

The 2,800t jacket is expected to be installed in the second quarter of 2020, with the 3,800t topside following in the fourth quarter of next year. The platform will go into service in 2021.

The 1.4GW Hollandse Kust Zuid zone comprises four offshore wind farms that will be connected to both the Alpha and Beta substations. The wind farms are being developed by Vattenfall.
