The surveys will be done in the Belgian part of the North Sea and the German sector of the Baltic Sea.

The tender is divided into three lots that cover geotechnical surveys and soil samplings for submarine power cables, offshore platforms in water depths under 20 meters, and offshore platforms in water depths over 20 meters.

The contract(s) will be signed for a duration of 96 months.

The deadline for submitting requests to participate is 19 February, with the invitation to tender scheduled to be issued on 5 March.

50Hertz is part of the Elia Group. 50Hertz Transmission GmbH owns 50Hertz Offshore GmbH, which connects offshore wind farms in the Baltic Sea to the 50Hertz transmission grid.

The shareholders in 50Hertz Transmission GmbH – via Eurogrid International and Eurogrid GmbH – are the Belgian transmission system operator Elia (80 %) and the federal and state-owned promotional KfW Bank Group (20 %) which is owned by the Federal Government and the federal states of Germany, according to information on 50Hertz’s website.
